History: Percona Server for MySQL

Tiki can use [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percona_Server_for_MySQL|Percona Server for MySQL] in two ways:

- As a **database**. This is where your data is stored. The default storage engine is [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InnoDB|InnoDB]. The other database choices are ((MySQL)) and ((MariaDB)).
- As a **search index**. This is a temporary copy of some of your data, optimized for quick retrieval. The index options are explained here: ((Unified Index Comparison))
