## Definition of organic groups

Organic Groups are ((Templated Groups)) that are created and managed by users as opposed to by the site admin.

## General approach

The following features are used together to setup Organic Groups.

- ((Templated Groups)) to setup and create the groups and group assets, and ((Roles)) to manage permissions
- ((PluginSubscribeGroup)) or ((PluginSubscribeGroups)) for users to join groups by themselves.
- ((PluginMemberList)) and ((PluginGroupEdit)) for non-site-admin group leaders to be able to manage membership in the group and to edit limited information (name/description) of the group.
